Joan Giberti

Principal Consultant

Joan Giberti is a Principal Consultant at Applied Business Strategy with over 25 years of financial and operational experience.  She has served as a senior executive and as an advisor to many companies. Her expertise includes accounting and financial management, project management, strategic planning, and systems implementation.

Serving clients as an accounting advisor.   Ms. Giberti has established financial processes and controls for several companies.  She has prepared operational and financial assessments and developed baseline financial information.  She has managed the outsourcing of departmental functions including RFP, vendor selection, transition and training processes.  She has provided interim financial services and general accounting services to a variety of clients.  In some cases, she has served as an interim controller, implementing monthly management reporting as well as training and on-site management for a team of temporary employees.  She has been engaged by an international manufacturing company to facilitate an acquisition.  She has served as the project manager on a global recoveries automation project for an international real estate investment trust.  She automated the process for tracking common area maintenance, insurance and real estate tax billings for over 500 properties.  As a consultant for a national bank, she managed an aggressive retail expansion of over 120 branches in one year.

Leading Financial Operations and Financial Planning efforts.  In her duties with the Corporate Planning group of a large bank, Ms. Giberti was responsible for the development and implementation of a new corporate budget process organized around lines of business.  She was also responsible for the annual consolidated budget from individual LOB budget submissions and the monthly financial forecasts for the corporation.  In her duties with a large insurance company, Ms. Giberti planned, directed and controlled the billing and banking functions for 1,200 corporate customers, managing a $3.9 million departmental budget and a staff of 65 employees.

Ms. Giberti began her career as a staff auditor at Ernst and Young.  Subsequent to this, she moved into the Financial Management Program of The Travelers Insurance Company.  She has also worked with KeyBank in their Corporate Financial Planning area, and served as a Controller for the Trammell Crow Company, before becoming an owner of Priority Resources, LLC.  She is a graduate of St Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana (Bachelor of Business Administration – Accounting, 1988) and a Certified Public Accountant (inactive status) in the State of Ohio. She is a current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
